Jakarta, 18 August 2013 – MAXPOWER successfully commissioned the Thaketa power plant. By utilizing 16 GE Jenbacher gas engines, type 620, each producing 3.3 MW, the plant generates an electrical output of 50 MW. The plant is gas fired and provides electricity for the suburbs of Yangon. The offtaker of this plant is MOEP.
The region regulary faces blackouts and the MAXPOWER plant helps to increase the ratio of electrification.
